Substance Abuse Prevention Program
Excessive alcohol use is a leading cause of preventable death in the United States among all adult age groups. Cigarette smoking still kills around 443,000 United States citizens a year, and at least half of state and federal inmates were active drug users at the time of their offense.
The good news is that we know that attitudes about and user rates of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. These aspects of abuse are shaped well before our children reach adulthood and we can impact their future now. Our prevention programs work to implement policies that reduce access, identify early early substance abuse, change communities attitudes toward ATOD use, and empower youth to make positive healthy decisions.
